Hand-building and painting class, Mondays, 7-9 pm, 4 weeks, adults

Beginning Handbuilding & Underglaze Decoration

This beginner-friendly handbuilding class introduces the fundamentals of creating functional ceramic pieces using mid-fire clay, without the use of a potter's wheel. Students will learn essential handbuilding techniques while creating a variety of functional forms and exploring underglazes to add color, patterns, and personal designs to their work. Finished pieces will be coated with a clear glaze and kiln-fired to create durable, functional ceramics. This is a small, intimate class designed to provide plenty of individual guidance, with enrollment limited to five students. Please note that this is not a sculpting class; refer to the photos in the description for examples of the types of projects we'll create.Clay, tools, and firing are included. Students may wish to purchase additional underglazes to supplement the colors provided. The type of clay used is at the instructor's discretion.

Clay, tools and firing are included.  Students may want to buy their own underglazes to supplement what's provided.  This class is taught upstairs in the art studio. Entrance is from the street side, up the stairs. Parking is street or in the back of our studio, NOT along the Garage wall. Please arrive 15 min earlier to find parking and studio.
