Hand-building class, Mondays, 7-9 pm, 4 weeks

This is a beginning hand building class with emphasis on painting and decorating. No refunds or changes 48 hours before class starts. In this beginner hand-building class, you will learn the basic methods of handbuilding and creating functional objects with low-fire clay without the use of a potter's wheel. You will also experiment with underglazes to decorate your pieces with designs you choose. We will use a clear glaze to finalize the work and make it durable and usable. Work will be fired to cone 06.  Small, intimate class, enrollment is limited to five students, so you can get instructor's full attention. Please note, this is not a sculpting class, see photos in description to get an idea of what's going to be taught. Clay, tools and firing are included.  Students may want to buy their own underglazes to supplement what's provided. Type of clay is the instructor's choice. This class is taught upstairs in the art studio. Entrance is from the street side, up the stairs. Please arrive 15 min earlier on first class.
