Welcome to your happy place
You've got the ideas, the sketches, the thing you keep meaning to make.
What you need is a room with good light and a wheel that works. Echo Art Studio is that room. It's a ceramics studio in Palms, West Los Angeles, for people who are past the beginner stage and just need space to work. We are one of the oldest pottery studios in LA, established in 1999. Owners of The Pottery Studio and Still Life Ceramics came from our place.
We've got Shimpo wheels, a slab roller, a spray booth, and 25 Cone 10 glazes we mix ourselves. Three gas kilns in the courtyard and two electric kilns inside. Bisque firing's included; glaze firing runs $1 a pound (or $2 if it's over 10 inches in any direction). Clay from Aardvark and Laguna available for purchase.
Memberships
Deluxe — $250/month Unlimited 24/7 access. One tall shelf or two regular shelves. This is for if you're basically living here.
Regular — $195/month Up to 25 hours a week. One shelf, roughly 24" x 36". Good if you've got a day job or other commitments but you're serious about showing up.
Firing — $145/month You work at home but you need real kilns. Drop off during business hours, use our glazes, pick up when it's done. Unlimited bisque included.
The fine print nobody reads but should: Two-month commitment to start. After that, email us 7 days before your billing date to cancel. No pausing—if you take a break, you clear your shelf and rejoin later. Keep a card on file for fees. Production work (like, making 100 mugs to sell) isn't what this space is for. You get a 20% discount on all wheel classes and 10% off on hand-building classes.
What to bring: Your own tools, bats, and an apron if you're fancy, but we make and sell CLAYPRON here as well as most tools and bats. We have chucks, buckets, sponges—the shared stuff for your use.
What not to bring: Pets, kids, political debates. This sounds harsh but honestly most people come here to get away from all that.
Want to look around? Come in Monday-Friday 9 am to 5 pm. No pressure, just come see if it feels right. Ask for Fausto.
