Surface Decoration, Saturdays, 1-3 pm, 4 weeks

Ready to up your game for richer pottery surfaces?  In this demonstration based 4 week workshop you will learn how to build dimensional tactile surfaces with ancient Korean Buncheong techniques, building tactile surfaces with the use of slip, carving , scafitto inlay and stamping. Mono printing, creating your own designs and transferring them on to your work with slip and under glazes.

These techniques will help enhance your work regardless of your aesthetic and give you endless possibilities.

Each week we will experiment with different techniques.  You can bring in your own greenware  pieces, soft leather hard  in the trimming stage.  If you don’t have your own pieces sample tiles will be supplied for you to practice.  The final week will be dedicated to glazing your pieces.

You will come away with the confidence to experiment with these techniques and make them your own.
